Screen Repair: Depth Psychology in a Digital World Digital technology plays a powerful role in many of the issues that bring people into therapy. Online platforms often substitute for solitude, dampening the capacity for self-reflection and interior experience. Feelings of FOMO and social comparison erode a sense of inner life. The rise of artificial intelligence threatens trust in human intelligence. Social media demands public declarations of identity and allegiance, reinforcing polarizations that fracture our society and diminish our ability to hold complexity or sustain multiple, conflicting narratives.
