AOJP Mentorship Program

The AOJP Mentorship Program aims to foster connections and provide support within our community, and offers tailored guidance to members at every stage of their academic and professional journey.

Undergraduate psychology students are matched with doctoral-level psychology graduate student mentors who can provide valuable insights into application strategies, research and clinical opportunities, interview preparation, navigating graduate school, and overall career direction. Doctoral-level psychology graduate students are paired with early career psychologists, who can offer assistance with externship and internship applications, navigating challenges with supervisors, course and practicum guidance, professional development, information about licensure, and career advice.

By pairing members of our community, our mentorship program will provide a supportive environment where aspiring clinical psychologists can receive personalized guidance and mentorship tailored to their specific goals and needs. Members are encouraged to connect regularly, aiming for at least once per month to discuss goals, progress, and any challenges they may be facing. They can meet up in person, over the phone, or via video call— depending on the availability and preference of the pair. This invaluable resource is dedicated to AOJP members only, so if you’re not yet a member - become one today!
