ORA

ORA seeks to eliminate abuse from the Jewish divorce process. ORA works for the timely and unconditional
issuance of a get and believes that the protracted refusal to issue or receive a get is a form of domestic abuse which must never be tolerated. Separation and divorce can be a challenging and lonely time in a person’s life. ORA's staff has years of experience in working with individuals experiencing personal challenges and is here to support with compassion and empathy. Individuals at any stage of the divorce process are welcome to contact ORA.

Ray of Hope

Ray of Hope is an organization dedicated to providing support to Jewish women and men who have experienced sexual abuse. Available services range from peer support groups, events and care management to trainings for organizations and community leaders. Ray of Hope provides bi-weekly confidential support groups run by trauma informed professionals, care packages, individualized care management, resources for survivors and member-wide annual events.

Shalom Task Force

The mission of Shalom Task Force is to combat and prevent domestic violence and foster healthy and safe relationships and families. Their services include a confidential hotline and chatline, free legal services and community education workshops.

ABUSE

Ohel Family Services

Ohel's Domestic Abuse Department is a Brooklyn-based program that works with women experiencing partner abuse to help unravel the mystery of abuse and make sense of what they are experiencing in relationships. Services are free, sensitive and confidential. Ohel is a multi-faceted social services organization that provides a multitude of therapeutic, family and social services for children and adults. In addition to the domestic abuse program described here, Ohel offers dozens of additional services to those not experiencing abuse but can benefit from support, intervention, services and therapy.

Communities Confronting Substance Use & Addiction (CCSA)

CCSA was founded with the goal of creating stigma-free Jewish communities through family support groups, com- munity awareness events and evidence-based prevention education programming for Jewish middle and high school students, faculty and parents. CCSA provides education on this issue to shuls, organizations and schools. They provide support groups for families of those with addiction. CCSA has recently joined forces with Ohel to continue their work on substance abuse prevention and education.

Madraigos

Madraigos is a crisis, assessment, referral and case management organization that provides free help for anyone struggling with a mental, behavioral or emotional difficulty. Madraigos provides a range of prevention programs for schools and communities.
