What is AOJP?

AOJP Mission Statement

Association of Orthodox Jewish Psychologists (AOJP) is a professional organization intended to foster and promote the growth and advancement of Orthodox Jewish psychology doctoral students, clinicians, academics, and researchers in order to serve both these individuals and the public. This organization is also intended to provide members with a forum to address the unique role of psychology within the Orthodox Jewish community and beyond.

Resources for Orthodox Jewish  Psychologists

AOJP is dedicated to achieving this mission through the following initiatives:

1

Maintain a professional environment for Orthodox Jewish psychologists to discuss and develop their unique positions in both their professional and personal lives.

Promote the advancement of members’ professional and career development.

3

Support Orthodox Jewish psychology students and promote student mentorship to prepare future Orthodox Jewish psychologists.

4

Support and disseminate relevant research, evidence-based practice, and scholarly material to advance, communicate, and apply empirical research, psychotherapy practice, and neuropsychological / psychological / psychoeducational assessments within the Orthodox community.

Provide relevant didactic and training opportunities for its members.

Increase the Orthodox Jewish community’s awareness of, regard for, and use of psychology.

Hold conferences/symposiums and social events to foster continuity of learning and professional development and to promote professional networking in the field of psychology.

Support diversity and inclusion within its members and the Orthodox Jewish community as a whole.   

9

Partner and consult with communities, other organizations, rabbis, community leaders, and psychology experts to help promote this mission.
