Specialized Training
As a certified trainer in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Dr. Sugerman brings a high level of expertise and warmth to her work with children and families. She also has advanced training in the Modular Approach to Therapy for Children (MATCH-ADTC). Dr. Sugerman integrates evidence-based strategies while placing a strong emphasis on involving parents every step of the way. She recognizes that empowering parents is often key to lasting change. Through live coaching and active skill building, she helps caregivers confidently implement practical strategies at home and beyond.
Education and Professional Experience
Dr. Sugerman earned her PsyD from Hofstra University. During her training, she interned in the Clarkstown and East Ramapo School Districts, providing her with diverse clinical experience across settings. Dr. Sugerman then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Judge Baker Children’s Center, a Harvard Medical School affiliate.
Once she completed her training, Dr. Sugerman applied her diverse skills and areas of expertise as a psychologist at the Child Mind Institute’s ADHD and Behavior Disorder Center. Dr. Sugerman also brought her clinical expertise into leadership roles—first at Camp Baker, and later as Director of the Child Mind Institute’s Summer Program. In these therapeutic programs, she created enriching, positive, and transformative experiences for children with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
