Therapy Modalities

My name is Yocheved (Ayden) Ferstenberg. I completed my graduate studies at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology where I earned my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. In graduate school, I completed a specialized training program in geropsychology with a focus on helping people navigate life transitions, identity changes across the lifespan, grief and loss, caregiving concerns, and other changes that go along with the aging process at each stage of development. I also completed formal training at Montefiore Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Jacobi Medical Center. I also completed two Postdoctoral Fellowships, one in a group practice specializing in couples and sex therapy, and the other in a private practice specializing in developmental and complex trauma.

Everyone goes through life developing implicit maps or "knowings" for how the world works. My goal in therapy is to help you uncover these implicit knowings and understand how they have been affecting your reactions, so we can work together to help you create greater choice and conscious intention behind your actions. I use a variety of experiential practices (IFS, Coherence Therapy, Somatic practices, Gestalt, AEDP, relational psychodynamic therapy) to help you quickly and deeply access these implicit knowings and transform them to create meaningful change in your life.

I also offer Couples Therapy (Gottman, PET-C, Developmental Model) and Sex Therapy.
